Scandlines charges a fuel surcharge per crossing. The surcharge will be adjusted quarterly under consideration of market developments.

According to EU regulations (ETS) a new CO2 contribution has to be applied for the entire transport and travel industry from 2024. This surcharge will be calculated per transported vehicle/passenger depending on the share from the entire CO2 load and valid CO2 pricing by ETS.
The particular amount may vary by time and will be published and continuously updated.
The supplement for busses with more than 60 passenger will apply for each ferry crossing on the Rostock-Gedser und Puttgarden-Rødby route.
The surcharge will be added to the booking confirmation, via the Service Center, if the number exceed 60 passengers incl. driver and guide. Valid for all days and for all ticket types (inc. Combi Tickets to Sweden) on route Rostock-Gedser and Puttgarden-Rødby v.v. The surcharge is EUR 50 per departure and bus.
If the number of passengers changes to less than 60 passengers, the Service Center has to be informed accordingly to our rebooking and cancellation conditions.
If the change is not communicated in advance, the surcharge will remain and be invoiced. even if the number of passengers are changed on the departure day at check-in.
If you would like to purchase and pay for your bus crossing at the harbor the ticket will be subject to a Bus Handling Fee. We will charge a Bus Handling Fee starting at 30 €.
